01 / Connection context
Choose a manual handoff or an actual connector
A package that reads a supplied CSV does not need access to your Google account. A live connector is a different setup with its own permissions, token handling and operational limits. Check the agent’s explicit tool requirements. Merely mentioning Search Console in a task does not mean that AgentGrid connects to it.
02 / Connection context
Keep the report boundary with the data
Google documents that report exports retain the selected filters and grouping, with representative table data truncated to 1,000 rows. Available formats include CSV, Excel and Google Sheets. Record the date range, filters, grouping and export time alongside the file so the analysis can explain its actual coverage.
03 / Connection context
Do not equate exported zero with observed zero
Google notes that unavailable values displayed as a tilde or dash become zero in downloaded data, and report totals may include data outside the table’s row limit. AgentGrid recommends keeping an accompanying note about these limitations. Ask the agent to distinguish a measured zero from an unavailable value wherever your source permits it.
04 / Connection context
Review the proposed action separately
Use the output to choose what to investigate: affected pages, comparison periods and missing evidence. A traffic observation is not an authorized website change. Check calculations and page context before approving edits, redirects or new content. No API credential is required merely to read this guide.
Check before you continue.
- Keep the report’s dates, filters, grouping and truncation notes with the export.
- Remove unrelated private identifiers and share only an authorized bounded file.
- Require row-level evidence and separate observations from causal hypotheses.
